Potts models with competing interactions

چکیده
The mock A N N N I model is generalised in replacing the Ising spins by q-state Potts variables. Performing exact dedecoration transformations for general q and using Monte Carlo techniques in two dimensions for q = 3, a multitude of distinct spatially modulated long-range ordered phases, as well as phases with algebraic order, are found 10 spring from a multiphase point.

Phase diagram of the Ising square lattice with competing interactions
We restudy the phase diagram of the 2D-Ising model with competing interactions J1 on nearest neighbour and J2 on next-nearest neighbour bonds via Monte-Carlo simulations. We present the finite temperature phase diagram and introduce computational methods which allow us to calculate transition temperatures close to the critical point at J2 = 0.5J1. Further on we investigate the character of the ...
متن کاملPhase Transitions for the Potts Model with Four Competing Interactions
In this paper we study phase transitions for the Potts model with four competing interactions (external field, the nearest neighbor, the second neighbors and triples of neighbors) on Cayley tree of order two. We prove that for some parameter values of the model there is phase transition. We reduce the problem of describing limiting Gibbs measures to the problem of solving a system of nonlinear ...

In the present paper we study a phase transition problem for the Potts model with three competing interactions, the nearest neighbors, the second neighbors and triples of neighbors and non-zero external field on Cayley tree of order two. We prove that for some parameter values of the model there is phase transition. We reduce the problem of describing by limiting Gibbs measures to the problem o...
متن کاملOn Phase Transitions for P -adic Potts Model with Competing Interactions on a Cayley Tree
In the paper we considere three state p-adic Potts model with competing interactions on a Cayley tree of order two. We reduce a problem of describing of the p-adic Gibbs measures to the solution of certain recursive equation, and using it we will prove that a phase transition occurs if and only if p = 3 for any value (non zero) of interactions. As well, we completely solve the uniqueness proble...
متن کاملPotts Models and Random-cluster Processes with Many-body Interactions
Geoffrey Grimmett Abstra t. Known differential inequalities for certain ferromagnetic Potts models with pairinteractions may be extended to Potts models with many-body interactions. As a major application of such differential inequalities, we obtain necessary and sufficient conditions on the set of interactions of such a Potts model in order that its critical point be a strictly monotonic funct...
